Heartsaver CPR in Schools
PSST is also approved by the NYS Education Department to
offer First Aid & CPR for Coaches. After course completion an
American Heart Association card will be issued as well as a NYS
Education Department Certificate.

Education Department CPR/FIRST AID For Coaches
This course is required for all
New York State coaches. The course content include
Administrative procedures in sports injuries, Injury prevention,
Injury Recognition, Types of injuries and specific first aid
responses Climatic conditions, Chronic problems, Reactions
to emotional stress, Nutrition and health, Improper use of
modalities for treatment, Taping techniques and Adult CPR.
Proficiency is established by skills testing and written exam
given by an American Heart Association instructor. Successful
candidates will receive an American Heart Association BLS card
plus a certificate from the New York State Department of
Education. The approximate length of course for the
initial class is 16 hours (valid for 3 years). The
approximate length of course for recertification is 7.5 hours
(valid for 1 year)
