American Heart Association (AHA)
Courses
If a cardiac arrest happened to your loved
one or a close friend, would you know how to perform life-saving
CPR, which can double a victim’s chance of survival? Would
you know what to do if an infant in your care suddenly began to
choke or suffer cardiac arrest? Surprisingly, the vast
majority of Americans don't. Almost 80 percent of
out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur at home and are witnessed
by a family member. Only 6.4 percent of sudden cardiac
arrest victims survive because the vast majority of those
witnessing the arrest are people who do not know how to perform
CPR. CPR can make the difference between the life and
death of a loved one. It can double or triple a cardiac
arrest victim's chance of survival.
American Heart Association CPR & First Aid
Training is geared to prepare you to successfully handle life
threatening situations in which every second is crucial.
